…and the very next night at 6pm, Wednesday 17th April, we’ll be putting another keg beer on the bar that is new to the Rake – Birrificio Italiano’s Extra Hop, a hoppy take on the German Pilsener style. One keg. Click here to read up on it.

So that’s Rocky Head Pale Ale on Tuesday, and Birrificio Italiano Extra Hop on Wednesday. Both at 6pm – come join us.

We’re going for a full takeover on this one, with a Flying Dog beer on each of our beer lines. Yes, that does include handpull. We’re confident we can sidestep any technical gremlins there, so here’s a list of what we’re looking to put on for you:

…Nebula is an India Pale Ale that is late-hopped and dry-hopped with Galaxy, a hop hailing from Australia. This results in lots of tropical fruit flavours with aromas of passion fruit and peach and a piney, lingering hop bitterness on the palate.

“At Rooie Dop, we don’t really care about styles. But this is our version of an American IPA. Classic example of the style? Fits perfectly into the category? No. Does it need to be? It just needs to be pretty tasty! Chinook and Cascade hops dominate this beer and are assisted by a biscuity malty backbone. You just can’t resist a Chica Americana!”

…it’s a hop bomb. If you like your IPAs to smack you in the face will a bag full of hops, then this is the one for you. A personal favourite of mine. So leave some for me, please…

Some good/bad news regarding our Flying Dog tap takeover which we had originally slated for Wednesday 27 March…

The bad news first – it has been postponed and will NOT be taking place on the 27th.

The good news is that we’re delaying it because we’ve found out that if we wait a little longer, we’ll be able to get our hands on a load of very, very interesting Flying Dog beerage that you may very well have never, ever had before.

So, it will happen (soon), but the current plan is to delay until a little after Easter. As soon as we know exactly when we’re doing it, we’ll let you know, so as always, watch this space!

We’re rather excited to announce that The Rake is the first bar in London to receive delivery of two kegs from Toccalmatto of Italy. These are…

Big Lager – 6.6% Imperial Pils brewed with Citra, Nelson and Stella. This is a collaboration brew with Swedish All In Brewing.

Supernova Suicide – 4.5% Belgian-style Saison, dry hopped with Stella and Summer with stunning white melon fruity notes and great drinkability.

We’ll be putting these on the bar from 3pm tomorrow. That’s right, tomorrow. Do whatever you have to do to get some of this before it runs out – leave work early, tell your spouse you’re going to squash practice, return some videotapes…

…really, now. You don’t want to miss them!
